¿En qué momento
su mano no llegó hasta el bolsillo del abrigo de él
aunque la niebla de noviembre se filtraba por su guante?


¿En qué momento
sus dedos olvidaron que había un lugar particular
para encajar esas hebras de cabello, justo detrás de la oreja de él?


¿En qué preciso momento en el camino
ella cesó de apoyar su palma sobre el muslo de él,
o sobre su nuca, como quien dice
el viaje es largo. Estás cansado. Estoy aquí?

At what point
did her hand not creep into his coat pocket
even though November fog seeped through her glove


At what point
did her fingers forget there was a particular spot
to tack that strand of hair, just behind his ear?


At what precise point on the road
did she stop resting her palm on his thigh,
or on the nape of his neck, as if to say
the journey’s long. You’re tired. I’m here?
