los momentos que estaban pasando;

Stone Mania

How much it hurts me to tidy up when all my papers are/ heaped on the desk in a three-month mess,/ To regains control of this drift of days I've lost in/ my passion for building in granite,/ And face the bills I must pay by leaving the house/ that has cost me too much to enlarge,/ Where I passed the time too quickly preparing a place for/ the future to work within soundproof walls,/ So never had a moment in the present for writing about/ the moments that were passing away:/ How much it hurts to see the destruction that all good/ building, even the best, must cause,/ Not only the hedges that had to be first cut down/ before the foundations were dug,/ But deeper cuts through veins in the mind that carried/ the blood of memory through the brain: How much it hurts me to have neglected all this summer/ the friends whom I might have seen/ But for my mad obsessions of building more rooms/ to entertain them in time to come:/ Because these times are apt to elude us, we die, or our/ friends drop dead before we can say/ I'd love you to see and enjoy the house whose construction/ has kept us entirely apart.
